I would like to introduce myself, my name is Roxane and I have ALWAYS loved to create!  I have tried "re-invented" myself several times and appreciate you taking the time to view my site & work!

I can tell you I did not set out to be a cheese plate maker!  But with love and support from my family & friends I have found something I love to do!

I started out as an actress, creating different short & feature length projects!  Along the way I continued my desire to create "gifts" for my  family & friends.  I started in glass about , well, 6 or 7 years ago.  I found myself really enjoying the medium and taking several classes.

At first I especially liked working with warm glass, fusing & cutting.  I created dozen's up on dozen's of unique pendants, exploring both tact and full fuses, the use of dichotic, 2nd fuses, gold leafing, etching, bailing, wire wrapping...you name it, I tried it!  That obsession lasted for a few years, until I had my first baby. Once my daughter became mobile I was no longer able to cut glass.  Shards of sharp glass prove to be dangerous with little hands and feet around.  My cutting days TOTALLY came to an end with the addition of my second child, but my love for glass did not!

So, I found a new way to work with the medium.  I discovered slumping, yes, a technique I had learned years before, but decided to re-explore.  It uses the heat a kiln provides to help create the desired object!  It opened up endless possibilities! (Plus, bonus++, can be done with out cutting glass!)

I have made several things with the technique but really enjoy, and have seemed to have found a niche, with slumping recycled wine bottles!  This works especially well for me for 4 main reasons:
1.  Recycle, recycle, recycle!  I believe in recycling.  All of the bottles I use are being re-purposed.  I work with the items friends, family and neighbors give me!  It keeps it interesting!
2.  I love being able to include my family and friends...I mean, who doesn't want a good reason to drink a bottle of wine!
3.  I absolutely love the slumping process and the knowledge and work that comes  with knowing different bottle types and working with a kiln.
4.  (Last but definitely NOT least) I adore and need the artistry, design and creativity that is involved in decorating and wrapping each individual piece!  I need the creative outlet!

So, that is about it....I am a stay-at-home-mom/actress/artist!

Live.   Laugh.   Love.   Recycle.
Cheers!
